These so called search engine "experts" have over the years proclaimed all kinds of methods and exclusive techniques for higher rankings in search engines. This can include things such as hidden text, hidden links, meta tag stuffing, double meta tags, page stuffing, cloaking, redirect pages, bulk-quantity doorway pages, and other "secrets" of dubious quality.
These techniques, and newer techniques which amount to trickery, and are deceptive
and can result in lower rankings just by using one or more of them.
How can you be better informed to their deceptive practices. First always find out their system to getting you top rankings, as no one can EVER guarantee you the top position.
Some companies using these tactics will actually hurt your business and get you
banned from search engines down the road. These are tactics that, especially
if you are inexperienced and have no idea about web page optimization and
rankings you should be very aware on how SEO companies work. Ensure that
your SEO (if you do hire one) does not use these tactics on your
web site.
You have invested a great deal of time and resources to design your site and you may not understand the risks involved and may end up causing severe damage to your business. At minimum you should have a through understanding of using their techniques to getting your web site higher rankings and top positions.
Potentially this can result in your domain being banned. Once your site
is banned, it will be difficult to get your business back on the Web. Remember
search engines are your friends, don not cheat and they will be nice to
you. Cheat and your business will suffer or never prosper on the web.
